Spied: 2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG (503 HP 6.2L V8, ouch)

Spied: 2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

The next Mercedes compact entry luxury sedan adopts cues—and a 6.2-liter V-8—from its richer siblings.

PHOTOGRAPHY BY PASCAL PIERART
May 2006
Our spies have spotted the next C-class. Unlike other prototypes, this test mule sports immense wheels, quad exhaust pipes, and a mesh grille. Sources indicate this is the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. The C63 will adopt AMG's new 503-hp naturally aspirated V-8 engine. The less powerful C350, C280, and C230 will share most of this AMG's sheetmetal.......

Cool. I can't wait for this MB to come out. 503 HP, ouch, this thing will be fast.

Re: Spied: 2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

and a 500hp AMG V-8 means 525-550lb-ft of torque as well... AWD better at least be an option.

it's almost scary to think that by 2008 the baby Benz will be availible with as much hp as a Lambo had in 2000.

Re: Spied: 2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

MB continues to keep me a loyal admirer. I've loved the Mercedes we have owned and (if I'm rich), I would probably stick with Mercedes, specially with jesus a C with 500hp!

The next C-Class W204 definitely won't look like that! Otherwise Mercedes will be in deep trouble!

Auto Bild impression of how the next C-Class will look like.

Touring.

AutoVisie impression of how the C63 AMG will look like

I really like the last one.

Wow I really like all the pictures you post Kowalski, but especially the last one. Next 9-3 better be amazing, otherwise when I graduate college its going to be hard to not get a C.

Oh? Sources suggest that the upcoming M3 is as radically different from its predecessor as the E60 M5, which costs roughly twenty grand more to indefinately park in your driveway than the E39 did. Even if this isn't the case, the more comparable RS4 commands a sixty grand-plus price tag...
