Re: R32

German VW dealers absolutely hate the V6 Golfs. Wolfsburg stuffs them down their throats on condition that they won't get more "normal" cars and then they (the V6 Golfs) collect dust in some murky corners of showrooms.

Re: R32

Why do they hate the V6 Golf. Do they hate V6s overall or just the golf V6?
Because if they hate the V6s, then they hate every product from VW, and Audi because they all have V6s, if that's the case, VW should put the A6 V8 on the golf just to tease them, lol, just kidding.

They more or less love the Golf, only that VW made it too expensive at the beginning (to cover the overengineering and labor union costs), but now its retailing OK. The V6 ones are the disliked, because they go fast but they can't move them Everybody raves about them, but nobody buys them.

Audi V6s are moving OK, no problem there.

Re: R32

Here's a Top Gear video with Jeremy Clarkson comparing the Volkswagen Golf R32 vs the BMW 130i.

Video is out of synchrony...

Top Gear comparison test BMW 130i vs VW Golf R32

And here's another video (in German) comparing the VW R32 vs BMW 130i vs Opel Astra OPC. Guess who's the winner...

Click on the link below.

BMW 130i vs Opel Astra OPC vs Volkswagen Golf R32

As for the car...

The greatest thing about the Golf R32. Is that it's also available in 5-door version and it comes with either a 6-speed manual or the DSG 6-speed gearbox.

Oh yes...I physically need a VW Golf R32!

The R32 is not currently available in the US but when it was it was kinda pricey costing over $31000. When it was available the 32 designation was used because it used the narrow angle V6 that was 3.2 liters. Hopefully the next version available in the US will be an R36 and use the 3.6 pushing 280-300hp. Couple that with AWD and either a 6 speed manual or the awesome DSG with a great interior and you have a sweet car.

dont think the r36 is coming to the US or at all. theyre having trouble fitting th dsg with the 3.6 liter. dont think the tranny can handle all that power. Unless GM can make the camaro with an interior as good as the GTO or better, and come with decent power, i would consider buying an R32 over the camaro.

Re: R32

Wow, nice videos. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised to see how well it did. Not a fan of the styling (I rather like the Astra's) but man, it looks like it would be a blast to drive!
