    I hope the coupe returns the 3 series to the sexyness it previously had.

    The problem with the 3-coupe is that the entire rear looks like it was smushed. Fix that and it'll be fine.

    That being said, BMW is going to finally adhere to the even number = coupe, odd number = sedan nomenclature?

    Nice euro coupe. I think the 4 series will have a tough time against the Audi s5 whereas the baby 2 door mercedes still trails in STyling.

    What's with the baby side scoop on the front fender. I hope it blends better in final production.

    The BMW styling shows how challenging it is for them.

    It almost looks as if it's a big adventure for such a small little scooper pooper

    What happens to the 1-series then? I feel like BMW is trying too hard with this naming strategy.

    It becomes a FWD/AWD disaster waiting in the wings?

    I no longer understand what BMW is trying to do in the low end -- 1/2/3/4 series. Or more to the point... WHY they are doing it.

    If 1-series becomes FWD, then the current 1 can become a 2, assuming BMW still feels the need for this type of car -- despite it being a good seller. But what do I know? A 4-series has been talked about for over a decade now, and BMW always ends up calling it a 3-coupe.

    1=sedan 2=coupe
    3=sedan 4=coupe
    5=sedan 6=coupe
    7=sedan 8=coupe (if they ever do an 8 again)

    I will be surprised if they stick to it though. With the German really going after volume it's harder to brag about the 3 series being the number one seller in it's class when it's going to be broken up between the 3 and 4. They sell enough coupes that it could make a difference. Personally I hope they stick to the odd=sedan, even=coupe names.

    I thought it was said somewhere, before, that the 4-series was going to be the sedan, and the 3-series just the coupe....?

    I wonder what they will call it in China. I doubt they will call it a 4 series there. The Chinese for 4 is 'si' as is death! Chinese hospitals don't have fourth floors or rooms with the number 4 in them. Even the cashiers go 1, 2, 3, 5, 6!

    How does it not make sense? BMW's 1,2,3,4 series are all small cars. Why are there so many?

    Is the 3-series really that small? It's almost pushing 3,500 pounds.

    But they also make a 6-Series Sedan now.

    I Love BMW’s but Im so confused as to what they are doing with their naming. So the 4-Series will be the coupe version of the 3-series? Or is technically a different model? Are they still going to sell a 3-series coupe?

    I have always considered the 6-series a coupe version of the 5-series, but then all the sudden they came out with a sedan version of the 6-series?
