Porsche 911 Turbo Info

http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....rticle_id=3253

With AWD and peak torque up to a remarkable 502 lb.-ft. could it be Z06's Nemesis?

Quote:
Porsche released technical information and the first official photos of the sixth-generation 911 Turbo. Without a doubt, this looks to be the best turbocharged production machine that the legendary manufacturer has ever assembled. Power is derived from a twin-turbo 3.6-liter boxer engine that makes a whopping 480 bhp at 6000 rpm and a maximum 457 lb.-ft. of torque in a broad powerband spectrum from 1950 all the way up to 5000 rpm. A Sport Chrono Package (optional) allows for 10 seconds of additional boost that can bring peak torque up to a remarkable 502 lb.-ft. New tech features include a completely revamped all-wheel-drive system (said to be one of the lightest in the industry) with reworked traction control; larger (nearly 14-in.) brake discs front and rear and an available ceramic composite braking system for even more impressive braking, with even larger rotors (nearly 15-in.) up front.

Re: Porsche 911 Turbo Info

Style wise Id say it kills the Z06 but im a lil biased but as for performance id say it would take the Z06 around any track out there but well have to wait and see i guess

Re: Porsche 911 Turbo Info

Looks a lot better than the 996 Turbo in my opinion. I'm still a bigger fan of the naturally aspirated GT3.

Thats an awful lot of power, I like that it's AWD, probably would really need it.

Re: Porsche 911 Turbo Info

This would be he first car I would purchase if I hit the lottery. This is the everymans supercar. The Z06 is awesome but you can't legally put a child seat in it. I could squeeze both of my kids in the back seat of this rocket and scare the bejeezes out them. I too am a little biased, I actually named my Daughter CARRERA...........

Same here. This car does everything and will also cruise comfortablyin traffic. At probably $50,000 over the Z06's price it should beat on it.
