Re: new GTI Ads LMFAO!

I think the commericals are stupid. Maybe it's the overtly bad german acting. I know they are spoofing bad german acting, but I still don't think it's funny. If the Japanese made fun of themselves like this we'd all call it racist.

Re: new GTI Ads LMFAO!

An absolutely great advertisement! Everyone else will be wishing they had nailed this. Truly funny stuff. Like the New GTI too!

DuSpinnST,
It's true you rarely (if ever) see Asian Americans in any of their automobile ads. Kinda sad really. Instead they put "American" looking people ONLY. I wonder if it's a ad thing or if the actual companies themselves just don't approve anything 'Over the top' or what have you. Would make an interesting article (the reasoning behind it).

Either way, having a sense of humor is hardly a race issue. Gotta laugh at yourself man!

Re: new GTI Ads LMFAO!

those ads are retarded, if only entertaining because of the cars they destroy. Otherwise, VW could have come up with something less weird, afterall, i doubt a couple of ads will change ricers' minds, so go for something classy and elegant, that always works.

Re: new GTI Ads LMFAO!

I think in general its not to lure in ricers but make people laugh at how stupid they are ad shouldnt be taken seriously esp throwin up VW gang signs. my fav is when he says OH SHNAP! lol. you remember the weird ones and the funny ones this is both F west coast customs. I like the streamlined one too good stuff

These ads are genious. They really tear apart the Ricer Stigma...which in my book is always good.

That's the idea...the new VW GTI is classy and elegant alternative when compared to obnoxiously pimping da auto!

Dude you and DuSpinnst got to see a therapist or something. All this negativity is gonna give you an aneurysm. Or maybe I'll get one, 'cause I get a headache everytime I read one of your posts.

Re: new GTI Ads LMFAO!

VW has always had good ads, but they've been a bit conservative. It's good to see them making fun of themselves and having fun with it. I read that part of their new ad campaign was that they wanted to emphasize the fact that they are GERMAN cars and that they are proud to be German, which i can tell by the first three commercials.

I also like the Fast ones too - I love the delivery one where he says "Delivery is for the WEAK!"
