Re: New BMW M6

I would be impressed if it had atleast 600 Horsepower.

After all, it's an advanced OHC engine with 10 cylinders.

Please note my sarcasm.

Re: New BMW M6

The 6-Series is a really nice looking car. I'm getting a little bored with the whole M thing now though. I used to really like the M3 and I think I still do. But to have an M3, M5, M6 is just getting reptitive. I'd assume it will be quite the performer but it's not a big deal, I doubt I'll see one up this neck of the woods.

Re: New BMW M6

Not bad considering it gets over 1g's on the skidpad, especially for something as "hefty" (when compared to a Porsche, Corvette, Lamborghini, etc.) sports car...oops, I mean personal luxury coupe.

Re: New BMW M6

Didn't a magazine review the new M5 and complain that the car was always shifting?

Those wheels are seriously hot. Other than that, I'm not a fan of the Z4 front or the 5/6 series rear ends so it doesn't grab me as much as the E36 M3 did when it was released.

I wonder if the V10 will have the same problems as the high-strung V6 (engine failures, oil consumption and special oil that costs $9 a quart and if you don't use it your warranty is void.)

The M6 is essentially a 5-series with 2 doors, so having this engine/package makes sense.

the "M' package is similar to the V-Series at Caddy (over time there will be a V of pretty much each Caddy model). or an AMG kit at Mercedes .

I don't see how having an upscale model on each car is a bad thing.

I don't remember reading the M5 having shifting problems. I know Mercedes' new 7-speed is notorious for "finding the best gear."

As for the oil? Most likely. Most high-po engines are like that anyways. Call it "hidden costs" for maintenance.

I know I'm in the minority but i like the new BMWs....but then again styling is subjective, same thing goes for the CTS-V. I think that's it'll be a hit when it's released. The standard 6-series might not the the quickest vehicles ont he road but i think this will make quite a mark on the luxury sport coupe scene. It'll be a nice competitor to the XLR
