New Alfa Romeo/GM sedan

A new generation of Alfa Romeo's will soon be introduced. It will use the GM Premiumplatform
with FWD and 4WD configuration.
De 4WD or Q4 version will have a central torsiondifferential and at the back there will be an
active differential like the Ferrari 430 with the advantage that it's possible transmitting different kind of torque at the rear wheels. Also active torsion bars at the back. Double Wishbone at the front and multi link axle for the rear with rear wheel steering.
Also with new GM powertrains including the Alloytec V6 engine.
Extensive modifictions to heads, cilinders and sleeves, exhausts, direct injection has been carried out by Alfa Romeo. What's your opinion? Could it be succesfull in the U.S.?
Alfa Romeo claim the 3.2 bi turbo version will have a topspeed of 187mph!

1.9 JTS 160cv - 200Nm
2.2 JTS 190cv - 235Nm

3.0 V6 Diesel Multijet 300cv - 600Nm Quadrifoglio Verde

Also on the Genevian carshow. The new GTV which will be fitted with the Maserati V8 4.2 425 bhp. This model and the Spider is especially destined for the American market and a an even
more powerful Maserati powered V8 coupe.

In 2007/8 there will be a big saloon car based on the Maserati QP. This will be a glorious return to transaxle and rearwheeldrive. The last prodution Alfa with rear wheel drive was the Alfa 75 with the DeDionaxle and the clutch-transmission-final drive unit carrying the rear calipers at the rear. Also powered by GM engines and a co-developed 5.0 V10 JTS with Ferrari delivering 500bhp.
