Re: Mercedes E Class: First official photos?

What's with those new automatic shifters that look like manual shifters?

Lame. Buy a car with a real manual.

Is this some kind of joke?

Lot of S-class (and C-class) cues...not surprising, of course...

Re: Mercedes E Class: First official photos?

It's very angular inside and out, bordering on abrasive. It makes me feel uncomfortable, not like a place I'd want to spend time in.

Re: Mercedes E Class: First official photos?

Not an attractive car. Rear end looks like the current Accord and the front looks like a GS Lexus. The inside looks like any Mercedes from the past 20 years.

Mercedes continues to prove that you can survive on your reputation so long as you don't seriously destroy it.

Re: Mercedes E Class: First official photos?

What's with the Batmobile interior??

I am soooooooooo relieved!!!!
I had believed that the E-Class was going to be some serious competition to the XF as my next car. Thus far.... XF leads by a very comfy margin.

Interesting that Mercedes is using the harsh angles.
It doesn't work.
It works ONLY for one car company -- Cadillac.
Sorry Mercedes. You failed this one.

Re: Mercedes E Class: First official photos?

Is this real?

The interior in particular looks nothing like what I expected. I thought the E would follow a similar theme to the new C inside, but this looks like a poorly done knockoff of a current 5 series interior.

Re: Mercedes E Class: First official photos?

Mercedes is going rapidly downhill since late 1990s, and this is yet another stage of it. I can't really understand why would people keep buying Mercedes, especially with better BMWs and Audis than ever - and now, the Jag.

Re: Mercedes E Class: First official photos?

The current generation SL, before they messed up the headlights last year (or was it just this year that they did it?) is a beautiful car. I don't think they're going downhill, I think they're just changing their style a little. The current CL looks awesome, it's just too big a car for my taste. The CLK Black was way awesome too.

Not a fan. I strongly prefer the current E-class whose styling is actually one of my favourites.

Re: Mercedes E Class: First official photos?

Pretty sure thats the new front end, not sure about the interior though.
As far as anyone not liking it, it had to change. The current E class looks dated beside anything else from MB right now.
