I hear ya. The closest thing we have is the Cadillac DTS - and it falls too short.. The Pontiac G8 competes in power (only with the V8) and style - but that's as far as it goes. The Chrysler 300C is a fair competitor - but lacks the luxurious experience. The SRT-8 is faster, but it's not luxurious with its harsh and noisy ride.

What's even more scary is to think about what's on the drawing board for Hyundai. They're already working on the successor to the first generation Genesis - and an even larger and more powerful luxury sedan. I think our only fair hope is Cadillac (the 300 and G8 aren't getting any more luxurious) and there's no full-size car being considered by GM...

I bet the Lincoln MKS will be the best domestic competitor for the Genesis.

Keep in mind though, the 'BIGGER' sedan is not intended nor it is slated for the North American market. At least for now. It is their replacement for their aging Equus sedan in Korea and posibly for the European market, NOT for the US. As for the Genesis coupe, I think the new Mustang that the Ford is planning may bury it out of competition and feed the Genesis coupe the dust. I am not sure what powerplant it will have, but I don't think Genesis coupe will have any chance against the car that has history and huge fanbase in the sports coupe market. I can't think of other brands right now but I don't think Genesis coupe will have any luck since the market is already flooded with good sports cars in the same price range.

Another little tidbit... Genesis needs to get AWD before it's even on the radar of anyone north of Virginia. Up here, it's AWD or go home for any car over $30,000.

As the GM insider, I hope that NO-ONE else in GM Management shares that POV... For ANY/EVERY high end car SPEED and POWER are KING... Wana know why the XLR doesn't sell? Hmm It is out classed in the speed and power department by just about everything, including the less expensive Corvette.

The front grill is ugly...The dash needs a little work.
But for a "first try" this car is amazing.
The 3/4 rear angle is a work of art...

The grill looks like something out of an old sci-fi movie...
Minor changes are all that's needed...

This car probably won't impact CTS sales... but it will kill the already mortally wounded DTS and STS... And if the (now canceled) DT7 lacks a "modern" V8 it will also get no love

Never mind back in the 10's, 9's, 8's, 7's, 6's, 5's, 4's, 3's $2's, 1.70 Anyone Surprised?

I disagree, I see plenty of non-AWD 300s, Chargers, BMWs, Mercedes, Mustangs, and Infinitis on the road in my neck of Pennsylvania.

AWD is a great help, but RWD is not the kiss of death you seem to think it is.
