Fiat 500: European car of the year

the 500 had been chosed over the Mondeo and Mazda 2

Re: Fiat 500: European car of the year

'had been chosed' <-- you're either very very tired or very very drunk I'm assuming

But hurrah - though the eCoTY goes to Fiats without so much of a second thought, the 500 deserves it - I've already seen a few in the Uk and damn they looked nice.

(Please hold the "OMG my Excursion would crush that shoebox hahahhaahhahaha how unsafe " comments for this thread...maybe just for once?!)

Re: Fiat 500: European car of the year

We saw it coming and it came... Fiat is ace at winning COTY (i.e. building cars Europe loves), and if anybody has any doubts they are on roll, here's a proof.

What I am really surprised by is the high placement of Mazda2. The finalists this year were a formidable group, with each having a good claim to the title, but Mazda's was perhaps the weakest (save for Mercedes, which is the odd one out).

Re: Fiat 500: European car of the year

finally a Fiat that deserves the award
But maybe I should have waited before saying it because in person I've seen that little thing only for a few seconds on the road...

I've been seeing 500's pop up all over the place... it's such a cool little car! Not sure about the other vehicles in the running, but the 500 certainly deserves an award like this.

I can't wait to see this micro over here in NA! For those who aren't aware or didn't click the link, 2010 "or sooner" it may be in NA.

Lucky you! As usual, you got the model early, even though it's made HERE!

We don't get the new Fiat 500 in Australia until March 2008 and already the first 3 months are sold out.

Can't wait to see one in the metal!!
