Re: Cayman S (Porsche Thing)

I remember hearing news a while back about a $30k Porsche. Talk about an ultimate teaser, I don't think theres been news aout this car at all.

Companies have tried it before, like Chrysler with the covered badge and the "What is it" ads in the auto mags, but the car was well known (by auto show followers) by then.

The flash thing claims an "overwhelming sound" from the engine, but I thought otherwise.

It says the Cayman is a back-to-roots 2 seater mid engined sports car. If this holds true, I don't think a $30k price tag is inconceivable.

EDIT: Scratch that, the site claims its to be positioned between the Boxster and the 911.

Re: Cayman S (Porsche Thing)

It seems to just be the Boxter coupe.

Re: Cayman S (Porsche Thing)

I read somewhere Porsche is making a midengine car that is not a Boxter but will sit inbetween the Boxter and the Carerra.

Re: Cayman S (Porsche Thing)

At the end of the flash video, you can click on the five words rotating around the sphere; clicking 'True' confirms that it is a mid engine two seater, clicking Passion says it's a 3.4litrs 295hp engine. Clicking seduction lets you hear the engine sound.
