All DSG gearboxes get launch control

For 07' Traction control 'Launch Control' feature will now be all vehicles equiped with the Direct Shift Gearbox. Activation possible when vehicle is at a complete stop, 'ESP' button is disengaged and the transmission lever is placed either in 'S' or in 1st gear with Tiptronic. This allows controlled wheelspin for a maximized acceleration at takeoff.

Another super cool feature of the DSG. Get a perfect launch anytime you need it.

For what company? VW?

DSG is the future.

Re: All DSG gearboxes get launch control

I wonder if they have a similar policy to BMW where a certain number of uses voids the tranny warranty.

I like the DSG, but I don't want to see it breaking anytime soon. Imagine the costs of the repairs.

DSG technology is proven under race conditions, Audi R8/R10. I think that it is more than capable of handling the abuse of all these young kids buying GTI's.

Not to mention the 1000hp Bugatti Veyron. It makes no sense to me that anyone wouldn't want a DSG style gearbox because VW had a transmission issue years ago with a non related transmission.

Anyone who has driven a car with the DSG cannot believe all automatics are not just like it.

Re: All DSG gearboxes get launch control

I'm just wondering: How does a normal start work with a DSG tranny. I mean there is no Fluidcoupler or manual Clutch. Right?

It works just like a manual clutch.

Old news. VWvortex mentioned this last year. It was already on the European models.

But you wouldnt know this unless you frequent the fourms.

It's not old news. LC has been talked about for years but it was only rumored to become available in the US. Only recently was this rumor confirmed by VW.
