INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- SPEED Channel will air all 10 Trans-Am Series races during the 2005 season. The 2005 Trans-Am campaign, the Series' 40th consecutive season, will air in one-hour time slots on a tape-delayed basis. Airdates and times will be announced soon.

SPEED Channel had broadcast Trans-Am Series racing from the network's inception until 2003. SPEED is the premier motorsports network in the United States, reaching 68 million households across the nation.

"The Trans-Am Series is pleased to return to SPEED Channel, North America's leading source for motorsports programming," said Trans-Am Series Executive Director John Clagett. "SPEED has been an ideal fit for the Trans-Am Series since the network's launch. During that time, SPEED has grown from a niche-oriented, enthusiast network to the powerhouse it is today. WeÕre excited to return North America's oldest and greatest sports car racing series to this countryÕs preeminent motorsports television network."

"The Trans-Am Series has a storied history and some of the best road racers in the country," said SPEED Channel President Jim Liberatore. "SPEED Channel viewers have an incredible passion for road racing, so having Trans-Am included in the SPEED Channel 2005 motor sports lineup is wonderful news."

SPEED Channel, entering its 10th season in 2005, is the nation's first and foremost cable network dedicated to motor sports and the passion for everything automotive. From racing to restoration, motorcycles to movies, SPEED Channel delivers quality programming from the track to the garage. Now available in more than 68 million homes in North America, SPEED Channel is among the fastest growing sports cable networks in the country. For more information, please visit SPEEDTV.com.

The Trans-Am Series features closed-fendered, production-based, V-8-powered sports cars, competing on permanent road courses, and temporary street and airport circuits throughout North America. The Trans-Am Series is America's oldest continuously running road racing series and celebrates its 40th consecutive year of competition in 2005.
