Re: Toyota gets first Nascar win

Can someone in the know explain to me the difference between a Camry stock car and a Charger or Impala stock car?

Are the engines different?

Who's up for seeing real Montes, G8s, Camrys, and Chargers on the race track for 500 laps? I sure am. Hell, I'd like to see the Craftsman truck series with the Tundra, Silverado, and Ram.

Financially it is far from dead, as far as the sport and the cars go it is a complete joke. The majority isn't always smart.

I believe the word is "hipocracy".

I was thinking the decline is because of Toyota, "good ole' boyz" don't drive rice-burners ............

If the Big 3 pull out, then NASCAR will die, or they'll all continue to root for their drivers in a Honda, Nissan or Toyota.

JGR has always done well at this track, the car is the same, chassis, suspension, set-up, Toyota engineers got the power out of the engine this year, Kyle drives like a nut, and wins or crashes trying .... (MOVE OVER DALE JARRET) yikes, that was close!

Re: Toyota gets first Nascar win

I personally think we should not get too worked up over this toyota victory. I'm not a toyota fan by any means but if you look at how many races the big three has won in comparison to toyota you'll see what I mean. However if a Toyota won a championship I bet it would make alot of diehard fans extremely upset

I re-typed that post about 15 times but I came to the conclusion that I could not say it without you twisting my words to say whatever you want.

The car of tomorrow is lame, we put little stickers on it and pretend it is a FWD family car, when in reality it is RWD and V8 powered. The Charger is the only one who gets a pass here. I mean seriously, "I race a Camry/Fusion" Give me a break.

Green/White checkered finishes, freezing the field on cautions instead of racing back to the line. The chase for the cup, what a joke.

Toyota was the final nail in the coffin. I used to be a huge fan but I haven't watched more than a couple races in a single season in several years.

Do you know anything about Australia's V8 supercars series? This is how nascar should be. At this point nascar is decent racing entertainment, but for the car enthusiast better series are around, just because nascar is shoved down your throat doesn't mean I have to play along.

I noticed that too. I know people clear out pretty fast after a race, but it looked pretty empty.

I didn't have to twist anyones words, your statement was that the loyal fans weren't smart!

I use to be a NASCAR fan too but it seems ever since Dale died I just don't have anyhone to root for!

I think if most people could get over their prejudices regarding NASCAR they would seem some awesome wheel to wheel, bumper to bumper, paint swapping racing!

Austrailian Supercar Series is cool stuff too, I think all forms of Motorsports is awesome, if it has 4 wheels, lots of Horsepower, and goes real fast then I'm all for it!

The last true form of stock car racing is the GT classes of the ALMS and the Rolex Grand Am Series. There you get to see Corvettes, Pontiac GXP-R's, Porsche's, Mazda's, Mustangs, Aston-Martin's, etc. All cars that you could go to the dealership's and get one, just that yours will have an interior. So many things that are learned on the race tracks with those cars are acually used on the street version of the cars. I enjoy watching that.

Us as well-deep down I'm still pissed that NASCAR doesn't run Pontiacs anymore, so it makes my heart swell to see them running in the ALMS and Rolex Series.

Was just thinking that.

And the fact that I believe that I have attended my last ever NASCAR race. Life is too short to piss away on something that's becoming more and more irrelevant to you.

I used to agree with this; now I think MOST people would applaud a Toyota Cup Championship. And that tells me that it's time to move on.

People wailed when Toyota entered the series, with unlimited cash and the right to use a race-only engine. Now those same people look beyond their principles just for the sake of following the herd.

Whatever.

Re: Toyota gets first Nascar win

Is there any difference between a Toyota or a Chevy nascar?

I don't follow the sport....
