Re: The official "NASCAR 2009" thread

Am amazed newman walked popped out alive and uninjured the way he did, cut off the roof and surprise . Was scarey seeing it live and then suddenly see a car going vertical and flipping. Find it ironic and amusing that at the last 'dega race Newman had Edwards on the hood and this time Newman is on Harvicks hood. Anyone else think Harvick sort of stopped like he was going to help Newman, saw the safety crews and continued on?

The race overall was very boring, the big wrecks added excitement but overall it wasn't worth watching 500 miles of racing for what was at most 10 minutes of excitement.

The trophy engraver must be warming up his tools, 3 races to go and Johnson almost had a lead of one full race where doesnt even need to start.

For the last wreck it appears to be more of the #2 getting off line just a little... with the #09 pushing and the #83 pushing at just the wrong time and then they were off to the races.

Feel sorry for Mark Martin, did so well avoiding everything and being at the front and then the #1 hits him on the side and over he goes.

Re: The official "NASCAR 2009" thread

Brad Keselowski to drive the #12 Penske car in Sprint Cup till the end of the season. Interesting to note he was driving the 09 as a Dodge yesterday at 'dega (it was a Chevy when he won there in the Spring) . Wonder if Penske gave JR Motorsports some $$$ as a thankyou to allow this as Brad K was not allowed to drive for two different manufacturers next year.

Re: The official "NASCAR 2009" thread

I thought the 09 was a chev, I know Finch has switched manufactures depending on the driver. But we Brad K he has been basicly running a Hendrick Chev. I am sorta wondering about the Keselowski situation for the running the 12 for the rest of the season while still in the 88. With no announcement seen from JR Motorsports yet. Seems very strange with the 88 still in the running for the Nationwide Title (abiet slim hope). Guess will find out on the weekend

I don't understand why the news media's are calling the Dega race, specifically plate racing, a joke? The race seemed good to me, just sucked the way it ended on fuel mileage.

No fuel mileage about it... more blown pit stop calls than anything. The #48 pitted asap after the Newman caution and prior to the red flag coming out. Other teams didn't and oops!

Also keep in this mind, there were at least 7 cars in the pack that Newman was in that didn't have enough fuel to run to the end without pitting, think about the possible melee they would have had with that many cars in the draft running out of gas

Over all the race was boring, the extended single file running ruined it, at least when they run 2-3 wide all day there is more chance of something happening.

If they didn't have restrictors, they would run higher RPM's. That would make it even more interesting IMO. More RPM's and more range of RPM's would make the fuel-efficiency card a much more prominent thing to consider for the teams.

Johnson wrecked on Lap 3!!! There IS a god!!! Please make it go to the last lap at Homestead and either Gordon or Montoya get it.

Montoya's performance and Junior's dismal results show everyone how smart Teresa actually is. For such "poor" equipment, the 42 is hanging right with the 48, 24, and 5. Maybe Junior just needs to quit and realize that he can spot more talent (Truex, Keselowski) than he actually has.

I'm hoping Gordon can get Cup #5 this year. He's getting a little long in the tooth, too. Martin is just a fluke as he has always been. He doesn't have the killer instinct to win a Cup. Will this be another 2nd place year for him???

At least the last two races will not be sleepers, like I thought they'd be!

Go Mark Martin!

Heck, Mark could finish 15th and jeff could finish 10th. Jimmie then can technically be 60-80 points ahead of the other 2 hendrick cars. It just brings it down to Homestead to win the title.
