Absolutely. The N'wide series R07 engine has not been approved yet as it has in Cup. That was Chevy's complaint, that if they had their new engine, they'd be up there with Toyotas new engine. Just waiting for NASCAR to approve it.

Re: The Official "NASCAR 2008" thread

Is it my imagination, or is the R07 Nationwide approval taking longer than it should?

Not complaining, as I have long since acquiesced to the notion that's ya pays the Frances big yen, and ya wins a lotta races. Not fair, but life isn't fair either.

Looking forward to seeing if a different Yoter can challenge Bush the Arrogant this week at the Brickyard.

Sure wish the Chev (or Ford or Dodge ..or all three) teams would stay home just once some week in order to make a statement though.

I think this is really neat, the way they say Stewart happy to be back:

Has the age of sole sponsorship gone away? I see Tony will drive for Office Depot and Old Spice. Jr has duel sponsorship as well. I guess the bigger the name, the more sponsors you need....

I think it has to do with the costs being to high for just one company, so the owners court several companies and thus can share the sponsorship. Instead of trying to find one company shucking out $20 mil a season, it' seasier to find 2 companies willing to shuck out around $10 mil a piece.

That's just my take on the matter.

GO GOODYEAR!!!

Speaking of a company that needs to go under...

What a piece of sh1t tire! The drivers should all pull in and refuse to race any more today. This is especially ridiculous since they actually had a tire test a couple months ago.

I'll be glad when the exclusive contract with them runs out and someone else can build tires for the sport. Bridgestone/Firestone, Hoosier, Michelin, anyone. Hell, Douglas tires at Walmart will hold up better than these Goodyears!

Hmm..Goodyear is based where, again? Ohio? Wow. No wonder they suck so much.

Can't believe I'm still here. I suck that much too, according to some at this site.

Oh and Kyle Busch is having "issues"?? Where have we heard THAT before? What a lyin' sack of poopoo.

Re: The Official "NASCAR 2008" thread

I has offered tickets for the brickyard last week. I am glad that I didn't take them. NASCAR is in sorry shape. The TV can't hide the fact the stands don't have many people in them. I don't know what it going to take to bring it back.

Congrats *gag* to Jimmie Johnson on winning at the Toyota Brickyard.

Your punishment is in the works.

Signed, Kyle and Hokuro.

I am just watching the highlights, and I am glad I opted out of running the generator at the cabin for 3 hrs today.

Instead it was such a nice day I decided to get a sun burn.

Re: The Official "NASCAR 2008" thread

Wow, what a wonderful race!! I'm extremely surprised by the lack of commenting here!

I think we should just blame Jr for the whole tire thing. He was the one that went in April to test these tires.

I am officially embarrassed to be a NASCAR fan today.

I think I passed that a couple of months back. It's ok, you get used to them embarrassing you after a while.
