Amen to that.

Mariner, you have such a great way with words too. These are the post I enjoy the most.

Thanks Max, they're fun to write. You just have to be careful when mangling Scripture that you don't completely annoy someone to the point that Rex comes hunting or something.

And you were right all along, and I for one am not afraid to admit that I...was.

Kudos.

I can't beleive how quiet this place is tonight. I just got home from a reunion, and been listening to the race on the Sirius in the T&C. Looks to be a bit racier than past races in Chi-town.

Re: The Official "NASCAR 2008" thread

Busch drives past Johnson for the win. Harvick in third.

Man, I was hoping they'd get together and Harvick get the win.

Busch stuck in the grass b/c of all the rain.

Got to give it to Gibbs Racing for what they've done this year in Cup and Nationwide. Wonder why Roush isn't crying about them like he was when Childress and Hendrick had their dominating years?

It's all a cycle. Every year, it's usually a different team that has it clicking like no other.

It's pretty boring when the results seem preordained, and the only question is who finishes second and third.

So NASCAR says they'll inspect Toyota engines for signs of unfair mods? So what? Even if they find something, they'd never admit it, and we'd never know anyway.

What's crazy is that this year they changed the engine rules for the Busch series to make them less powerful and more dependable. Now, TRD has found a way to apparently make more power with the new design than anyone else, so NASCAR may make a change to correct it. Hell with that, NASCAR, you made your bed, now sleep in it. Wait until after the season to go changing rules. Pisses me off how they always do crap in the middle of the season. No other pro sports organizations does that. Oh wait, maybe a team has more field goals than the other, so the NFL will now only award 2 points instead of 3...

Re: The Official "NASCAR 2008" thread

The only bright thing that came out of last nights race, was Harvick coming in 3rd. I couldnt believe Johnson didnt hold off Busch on that last restart. That damn last caution ruined it, Johnson was pulling away.

Re: The Official "NASCAR 2008" thread

I know I sound like a homer (and I am) but I just wish that it wasn't so biased towards individual organizations, such as Hendrick, Gibbs, Roush, whomever.

NASCAR claims that it's about making the manufacturers equal in order to showcase the drivers' skills behind the wheel, but year after year, we never get to see that.

One team or another always has a SEVERE advantage, and we lose as fans.

Anyway, I give up on the fairness thing. Congrats Toyota, Emperors of all you survey, I beg forgiveness.

You have a point, MBC. Now, if Bill Davis or Waltrips teams were kicking butt, I'd say there is an issue for sure. Seeings how only Gibbs has the top Toyotas, or cars for that matter, I'd say it's just that they have their stuff together the best. Do I like the fact the every year, it seems (as you mentioned) that one team has "it" and is that much better? No, but I know it's not a manufacturer thing, it's a team chemistry/figured it out kind of thing.

I just wish it could be RCR again soon...
