new Race track on Us/Canadian border

http://www.cdnmotorspeedway.com/

It looks kinda interesting. Apparently, not 100% approved yet, but beyond the initial planning stages.

It could host NASCAR and/or Indycar road course or oval events, but the interesting thing is it appears to have a whole lot more to it (unique road course, oval, drifting circuit, motorcross course, go kart racing, BMX track, Campgrounds, race training, etc)

Wow, that is really quite impressive if they are going to go ahead and build this. It could become one of the premiere facilities in North America for auto racing and other activities.

Living in the Souther Ontario region, I really hope this gets done as we really need something of this calibar, as neither the Toronto Indy or Mosport are up to modern standards.

You know what would be awesome: if the racetrack was actually developed on the boarder with half on the Canadian side and half on the American side. That would be a wild idea!

Well, they can't exactly do that in Fort Erie. The Niagara River and Lake Erie form the border...Fort Erie on one side, Buffalo, NY on the other.

However, not only would this give Canada a 'first class' track that could eventually, possibly attract Nascar (Nationwide series at least) or Indy....but it is just over an hour away from the Toronto city limit (metro area close to 5 million people) and you could literally see Downtown Buffalo, NY from that site...and when you count Buffalo and Rochester NY, you would have another 2-3 million people within 90 minutes on the US side of the border. I really hope this goes through, it seems to be a great location.

That sounds awesome. Wouldn't have to cross the border to watch a NASCAR race.

Re: new Race track on Us/Canadian border

I read a little about this yesterday. Apparently, like many project like this..there is a handful of people who don't want the noise from it, or are worried about their land a few miles away and drunken crowds from races..etc...who are seeking to block it.

I know they have the right to do that, but I hope that a few people do not get in the way of a development like this that would be good for that region.

Why not this one?
