Talking NASCAR web site doesn't show Toyota on leaderboard?

Seriously, maybe NASCAR just doesn't want to let go of American hegemony in the rubbin' is racin' series:

I'm sure it is just an oversight. NASCAR is for sale to the highest bidder these days.

It's NASCAR... does it really matter? Que up the racial jokes and duck for the double standards that might be flying around. The programmers who keep the board probably only programmed Ford, Dodge, and Chevy for the manufacturers á la Y2K bug.

Just saw this on MSNBC:

Quote:
Waltrip, a two-time Daytona 500 winner, was 25th in qualifying. But NASCAR later impounded his Camry for further inspection.
Waltrip insisted the manifold was legal.

Quote:
Toyota's first for-real laps in the Nextel Cup series didn't amount to much on Sunday, as NASCAR officials impounded Michael Waltrip's car after finding a questionable substance in his engine and the Japanese automaker failed to place any drivers higher than 15th in pole qualifying for the Daytona 500.

In the interest of fairness why not point out that Matt Kenseth (who drives a Ford) and Kasey Kahne (who drives a Dodge) both also were penalized and may face stiff additional penalization for illegal modifications to their cars??

Because that wouldn't be biased enough.

Rhys Millen. Pontiac GTO. Formula D.
How many times do we have to do this? When Pontiac opened up on Formula D, a Japanese race series, we all cried for joy. Now that Toyota is competing (somewhat poorly, even) in NASCAR, its time to call foul? If you think Toyota is the end of NASCAR, you've had your head up your ass since the late '80s.

Re: NASCAR web site doesn't show Toyota on leaderboard?

NASCAR is more about the driver/team than the car manufacturer and Toyota wasn't able to bribe away any of the big dogs. It will be a long year for Toyota.

They got help with engines for the trucks because it was their first venture in, now its all up to them. also everybody has been reset this year with trying to juggle the new cot s. In most of the practices the toyotas were getting towed off the track. Theyve got a ways to go.

because we're talking about toyota, and the rest is already posted in the motorsports section.

Now I know why Dale didn't like Waltrip. NASCAR has sucked ever since Dale died.

In the interest of fairness I'll point out the fact Toyota's factory racing development arm (aka TRD) built the engine in question.
