My RIDE! Modded nd all!

Hey everyone.

Corrie here, currently rebuilding my 2000 Suzuki RM125.

I have some pictures of the rebuild, and if anyones interested, I'll be posting my steps to finishing the bike.

Specifications

Displacement: 124cc Single Cylinder

Cooling: Liquid Cooled- Dual Radiator

Type: Two Stroke

Compression: 11.8:1

Horsepower: 33HP ( at the spline/bell)

Curb Wieght: 191lbs (dry wieght)

Modifications:

Twin Air Intake

Wiseco High Performance Piston(Full Floating Pin)

Boyesen Pro Series Reed Valves

NGK Platnium Competition Spark Plug

D.I.D Roller Chain

Sun Star (48 tooth off set) Sprocket

Modifications to Come

FMF Rev Exhaust Pipe
FMF PowerCore II Shorty Muffler

When I'm finished, I'll be pumping out around 35hp to the wheel. And after the Exhaust system, between 36hp-38hp. And although it may not sound like alot, this bike really rips.

And now for pictures.

This is the bike all cleaned up before the rebuild.

This is her, stripped, and ready for work.

This is her completed!!

Hope you guys like what I've done. Ill post some pictures that have better quality later. This was taken with a phone.

Re: My 2000 Suzuki RM125

Okay, now I have the tank on. But, I'm still waiting for my parts to come in so I can finish it.

I ordered my Boyesen Reeds, D.I.D Chain, and Graphics Kit from MotoCross Giant. Anyone ever heard of them?

How much power are you looking to gain?

Just for kicks, I'm looking for just at a 100HP gain when we're finished with the L69.

Well, the original motors 33hp, I'm hoping to add about 2hp with just the mods I have now. But, 2hp is quite noticable when the vehicle only wieghs 190 pounds. I caculated the Lb per Hp is 5.75, and an Impala SS(just picked a car)'s rough Lbs per Hp is 11.5.

So when I add 2 hp, technically its like adding around 35hp to a midsize car(wieght 3500).

When I bought my bike, it was running on the original 6 year old piston, and an extremely worn drivetrain. So it was probably putting around 25HP to the ground. With a fresh drivetrain and new motor, I'll probably see around an 8-10hp difference.

Re: My 2000 Suzuki RM125 - Before, Middle, After:Rebuild!!! (Now has PICTURES)

Just remember to put all the fluids back in. After my first ever rebuild I got it all done and buttoned up and quit for the day. The next day I came into the garage after school and thought I was done and fired it up only to have it lock up about 5 minutes into riding it. Doh!! How stupid!! From then on when working on a bike I always leave myself a note with what I still need to do if it carries over into the next day or weekend.

So today my moronic friend tryed to convince me he could beet me on his 350 4-Stroke Raptor! I laughed my ass off.

First of all, his Quad makes 24hp at the wheels, compared to 35hp, and my bike wieghts almost 200 pounds less than his!

Holy crap that's movin. My 03 XR100 4 stroke is only about 5 hp bone stock at 165 lb dry and I still managed to get in plenty of trouble with it. One day I'll move up...

Yah, XR100s are fun. I used to own a Yamaha TTR125 that put down about 8hp.

The major diff is, that my bikes a 2-stroke race bike. And yours is a 4-stroke trail bike.

Have fun with it, but dont kill urself

Woah, completely forgot about this thread. That'll be great though, I'm sure it'll fly.

Bore it .30 over, new rods/pistons, better cam, keep the compression at 9.5:1, headers, true duals, Flowmasters and ram-air through the high-beams. It only had 180HP from the factory though.
