Re: IRL / Champ cars to merge.
Don't know if this is too little, too late for either series, especially Champ Car. Hopefully the two series will put aside what has kept them apart now for what, 15 years or more, and put on a solid racing series that will be a respectable open wheel series. They won't be the North American F1, but they just might get back more then the "core" open wheel fan. The slippery slope that they couldn't get back up was when Bill France Jr. was not just able to get stock cars to IMS, but make them a bigger race then the namesake Indy 500. I think with solid leadership, a good blend of oval track and road/city course, and like said before, put there differences behind them, the series will be able to grow and compete for fans. This in turn will hopefully get some younger tallent go go along with Marco Andretti and with the current talent of Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan, Dan Wheldon, Helio Castroneves, and Danica Patrick, the new series can succeed.
