Any body here road race?

I don't mean watching, I mean doing. And not autocrosses, but real road courses.

Re: Any body here road race?

I'll take that as a 'no'. I'm trying to get some info on MAM and Road America.

Re: Any body here road race?

I'd love to, but right now I don't have a vehicle for it or know of a track. I'm hoping to get a Cobalt SS/SC later this year and maybe then I'll look further into it.

Me too! But, I don't think I have enough funding to support it. And I don't have a race track near me.

I try to race, but my Scion xB disagrees.

There's a really kick-ass drifting raod near me. It's 5 lanes (yes, 5 lanes) of windy, down hill fun!! I would love to see someone drift down it.

Re: Any body here road race?

I love road course racing. Although Im a diehard nascar fan, I enjoy right hand turns as well. I'm trying to make up my mind on whether to hold out for the new camaro or get something like a 2000-2002 camaro and modify it for road course racing. We just got a new road course here in Houston (Sugarland).

Have you guys ever checked into open road racing? We have a race here in Fort Stockton, Texas called the Big Ben Open Road race. Cars hit over 200mph!

Road America is amazing! I have been up there several times, never raced though. A local SCCA Vette club goes up there and races 1 or 2 times a year (I went and watched), as well as other local SCCA clubs. I have wanted to do that for years, but havent saved quite enuf money to get a Vette yet.

We also have O'Riley Raceway Park,ORP here (formerly Indy Raceway Park, IRP) it is a very nice 5/8th oval track & 1/4 mile track, no road course though. There are all kind of races that go on here wheather pro. or SCCA stuff
