The 24 HRS of LeMons! Advice on getting sponsors!

I recently discovered this ridiculous but fun race called the 24 hours of LeMons. The basic concept is simple $500 beaters run around a course for 13 or 14 out of 24 hours and the car that completes the most laps in that time frame wins $1500 (In un-rolled nickles!)

My problem is not the car. You can almost stumble over a $500 jalopy anywhere. Its the safty equipment. By my reconing it'll cost about 6 or 7 times the amount of the car to get all of the safety equipment, and thats not including the double layer racing suits, helmets, room, board and transport involved (but hey one step at a time here). So that only means one thing : I gotta get sponsors.

Does anyone ANYONE have ANY advice or sugestions for me. That means ANY AT ALL. I especially need information on sponsor agrements and what they may tipically be worth.

You have to keep in mind that a sense of hummor is vital for this.

So please anyone who thinks that they can give advice, encouragment or anything else for that matter please respond to this post, or send a message to my profile here. I need all the help I can get!
