Re: Rumor Mill: A Ford-GM Merger Being Discussed?
GM is already being chastised for being too big as it is. Why would they need to bring FORD and all their baggage?
GM already has a ton of overlap. I cant see the logic of a vehicle being: Ford, Chevy, Pontiac, Saturn, Mazda, Mercury, Buick, Saab, Lincoln, Volvo, Cadillac, GMC, Hummer. |

They must be "In Talks" though, with the other rumour of "sharing Engines" something is in the works.
I think that some "Sahring" would be a good thing for both parties. |

Re: Rumor Mill: A Ford-GM Merger Being Discussed?
Automakers share technology all the time, under certain cercumstances. Nissans hybrid system is purchased as-is from Toyota. As has probably already been pointed out, The 2Mode hybrid system for example was shared between GM, Daimler, and BMW. And the 6 speed FWD transmission was co-develooped with Ford. Both of these sytems are tune-able so certain characteristics can be given to one brand or another.

I see Chrysler going under and GM and Ford the sole survivors and will emerge lean and mean.
