The use of two small turbo's have negated the instant torque advantage. Having the turbo's in the V also have made them easier to be packaged. I like turbocharging better since it doesn't rob engine power. With S/C you have to use power to make power.....

I don't get what the point of doing this would be? Do they want to be able to sell it at huge discount if their sales volumes are off expectations? How are people that think like this still in management? I would sorta understand if a lot of recent cars were costing too much for their price point, but I don't see that. It's actually surprising they are making the money they are after the wacked way they were run through bankruptcy more or less illegally.

Nothing infuriates me more with the thought that GM revisited the " Hot V " reversed intake, and exhaust concept , and that Audi as well as BMW use this configuration yet not GM.
I want a car so violent that the mere thought of full throttle would cause a heart attack. That actually going wide open throttle in would result in nothing less than instant death!

Maybe we'll see it in the next V6 engines

I think the fuel efficiencies of turbocharging are better than the superchargers and with direct injection turbo lag can be eliminated.

Next forced induction GM engines with direct injection should be turbo d with the slight exception of corvette which might go supercharged for packaging....( just a guess though on the vette)

I wonder what the $1.80 door handles look like. Are these the XTS door handles? Or is it the generic corporate door handle that appears across the board?

Can GM split the difference and find a $3.00 handle?

    Quite frankly, this is STOOOOOOOPID.

I asked my friend who is a display artist which door handle he thinks looks better and he picked the XTS door handle (I know I know but the S550 is a Mercedes). It looks cleaner and the lighting of it is pretty cool where as the S550 door handles look generic.

At the same time, if those $5.00 door handles makes the XTS door handles look bad then bring them on.

Yea but which blower? tvs1900 or 2300? That could make all the difference. I suspect we may see more than one engine in the long run like the current setup. LSA=tvs1900 and LS9=tvs2300, unless they use a TT motor for one of them.

The overall efficiency of the TT verses the TVS blowers is really really close in some setups and TVS packages more easily.

I actually don't care about the door handles. I said this earlier. It is more important for me for the Omega to have an automatic closing door, like the S and 7.

The reason I bring this up is this supposed $1.80 door handle.
Common sense would dictate that this $1.80 door handle would be at least EQUIVALENT to the LED-lit door handle of the XTS, right? I mean, why would the Omega have a cheaper looking/feeling door handle than the XTS, right? THe only thing that bugs me about the XTS handle is the square indent. I'd think it be a little more stylistic. But it's neither here nor there.

Hope Cadillac realizes that the new S will be entirely LED everything and plans accordingly.

So what's with the $5.00 door handle? TOuch sensor? LEDs? Chrome? What?

For comparison's sake... here's the new Impala.

Main problem with the XTS door handles: the button is too wiggly. That's the only problem I have with them.

On on a related but different note the other night I drove past our local Cadillac dealership for the first time in about 3 years. I saw the XTS in person. IMO it is a VERY nice looking car. It was a White Diamond Platinum Edition. I was very impressed with it. I hope the Omega Cadillac will be a total knockout if the eggheads don't kill it with a thousand budget cuts.
