Re: Illustrated: 2011 Chevrolet Corvette C7

How about the C7 evolves the C6 like the Corvette always does.

Don't mess with the Corvette. If you want something radical, call it something else, and make it a Cadillac.

the transformers spy shot looks much hotter. Don't worry, remember the Motortrend Solstice-based rendering and how ugly it was?

Re: Illustrated: 2011 Chevrolet Corvette C7

It could use some tweaks, but I'm VERY much liking the return the classic 'Vette look with hints of C3 styling. The Corvette has become somewhat ungainly ever since the C5 (although C6 improved on this greatly), and it'd be nice for it to return to more compact roots.

Re: Illustrated: 2011 Chevrolet Corvette C7

Ugh Puke.

There is way too much going on with this. I really don't like what they have done with the front clip. The "nose within a nose" look isn't horrible, however the addition of the headlights above the "intakes", the turn signals, and the fender vent makes for something that looks way too cobbled together. Simplify the design, and it will be much more attractive.

Re: Illustrated: 2011 Chevrolet Corvette C7

I just hope this does not turn out to be a one-off for the movie and that we are getting excited about/discussing a non-entity. To my eyes, it has been years since there was a truly bold and beautiful Corvette, perhaps as far back as 1973 or so. I look forward to more shots of the silver car spotted on the Transformers set as I feel this illustration is almost completely made up.....I doubt any Corvette would employ the GTR roofline.....I'd love it if they went back to the tapered boat tail of the 1963 Stingray that showed up years later modified as the Riviera boat tail.

Re: Illustrated: 2011 Chevrolet Corvette C7

I'm not digging the "nose within a nose." Not for the 'Vette. Overall, it's not bad, and many of the styling cues would look good on the next 'Vette.

Re: Illustrated: 2011 Chevrolet Corvette C7

Does anyone know when this new movie comes out? I must admit to obsessing on seeing new pics of this car, and hope that as the release date approaches more images leak out.

I'm more interested in getting some pics of Meagan Fox than the spy pics of the cars quite honestly...

I agree. I kinda vurped when I saw it. Looks like that Pontiac Pirahhna concept from the 90's.

As a Corvette owner, I don't like it. Looks just too damn wacky.

GOD, I HOPE THEY CAN COME UP WITH SOMETHING BETTER!!!!!

Re: Illustrated: 2011 Chevrolet Corvette C7

All you haters RELAX...
I'm willing to bet the farm that C7 looks nothing like that....

Even if C7 takes cues from this design, I am Positive it will all flow and look Great!

When's the last time a Vette looked bad anyway? (The 80's do not count because 90% of all car manufacturers ruined their cars in the 80's)

Average people cannot tell the difference between C5 and C6, yet the C6 looks amazing... how did they do that?
Point is, they know how to make a Vette look great while still keeping Vette cues....I wouldnt count on that GT-R roofline either... probably just testing public opinion.

Not for me. I don't like the "hat" roofline,it kills the profile for me. Nice rendering though.
