What kind of upgrade(s) are we talking about here? This is a sticking point for me, as much as I want a new Camaro I'm hesitant to get one now because I wonder what the MY2011 will hold. Can you offer any insight? MY2011 will probably be a full year from now I assume.

Re: Camaro Executive Express Edition - potentially new edition

HUH? Camaro Executive Express aka Camaro with a decent interior that can actually see eye to eye with the 2010 Mustang ..

yes, Ford needs to waste money on Cougar .. gimme a break!!

This will simply give Camaro a decent interior and an overpriced appearance package. It is a smart move on GM's part - Mustang is profitable ONLY because of the overhyped overpriced special editions .... this will help Camaro.

But it does not change the fact that the Mustang interior runs circles around Camaro's

Nothing is confirmed, and it may (likely) be limited to little touches inside, wheels, and some more optional cosmetic equipment.

An Executive Express Edition that offered a more "European-like" snazzed up interior would be a God-send. The Camaro has a disappointing interior. Somethings just don't carry over from concept to production. The steering wheel is horrible, the gauge cluster looks way too cartoon-ish spaceship, and the materials are not worthy of such a bold styling direction. Correct that, give it some throaty exhaust, and lose a few pounds..the Camaro would be so very much better.

Re: Chevrolet Camaro Executive Express Edition in the Works?

I hope this isn't going to be another 1970s Camaro Berlinetta. If it doesn't have performance upgrades or reduced weight it is a waste of money. How can this idea be taken with any seriousness?

With logic like that you'll never buy another new vehicle.

Sounds good to me. The retro interior is a little too polarizing. I've talke to several people that love the look of the Camaro but won't buy one because of the interior.

Bob liked this chop I did of a luxury version of Camaro, but said they couldn't do an obvious rebadge. Maybe this Executive Express Edition is as close as they can get.....

I love the "Audi" like comment. I heard this before when the interiors of the GMT-800 trucks were mildly updated in 2003. They promised they would be more Audi-like. What GM says and what GM does is VERY different. I can't imagine GM dumping money in an updated Camaro interior for years. They are simply too cheap (and poor) to do an upgrade right away.
What's funny is that I remember hearing an auto journalist comment on how
"Audi" like the work truck interior in the 2007+ GMT-900 Silverado is! Maybe with GM's recent increase in quality and design will make for a different outcome compared to the past.

I also remember seeing a nice sketch of the Camaro interior (possibly done by GM's designers) with a dark beige leather color throughout. It looked very, very nice. I wish I could find the picture, cause I think just the simple color change made the interior look very upscale. I wonder if the interior I saw is supposed to be the one used for this particular executive Camaro.

I personally see no problem with additional variants for the Camaro to begin with. Ford has so many iterations of the Mustang, it gives me a headache just to remember them all.

Re: Chevrolet Camaro Executive Express Edition in the Works?

i dont by the statement that it is modern with retro... to me i think it is retro plane and simple. and their is nothing wrong with that. i just would have went with a modern or futuristic inside...

Same concept, but I'd call it a Wildcat. I understand Buick is generally going to be FWD, but this would definitely widen the audience and lower the age for Buick if done right. I'm 39 and remain a Buick fan even if their products have been less than stellar for much of my adult life. The Enclave and new LaCrosse give me hope, but it's hanging by a thread. The Camaro stereotype is too strong and ingrained to make sense for this concept.
