Re: Camaro convertible “approved for production”

Oshawa I is doing testing on the Zeta GMX511 and GMX521. I original thought the Zeta platform GMX511 is the Chevy Impala 2010 and GMX521 is Chevy Monte Carlo. Here is were it gets interesting, the GMX511 is a convertible and the GMX521 is a coupe. The GMX551 Chevy Sedan.

Oshawa I is doing load testing on the GMX511 and Hatch testing on the gmx521. I don't know what the approval process is, but if these test are an indication approval looks near.

I completely agree, I had a T-Top on my 83 Z-28 and would not get another Camaro without one (unless it is not an option on the 5th Gen, then back to a hard top) T-Top would be Optimal, but a Targa would be kick ass too. I can't wait til this car goes into production and hits the dealership lots. The sketch of the Vert looks awesome though

yes, a hardtop would add too much weight as well.

Now that's some nice inside information to have.

What do you guys think these are going to be? Here's my guess list/wish list:

    GMX511 (convertible) - Velite
GMX521 (coupe) - Camaro or GTO or Monte Carlo
    GMX551 (sedan) - Impala

Sweetness. Can't wait until we hear the good word on these.

    GMX511 (vert) - Velite/Camaro
    GMX521 (Coupe) - Camaro/Monte Carlo/GTO and Grand National
    GMX551 (Sedan) - Impala/Grand Prix/ and Lacrosse(Allure Canada)
just to make it make better business sense in N/A, but giving each car distinct styling and handling Characteristics (especially in Sedans)

I love how one rumor source can be quoted by another rumor source and suddenly something without a single ounce of fact is quoted as gospel.

If Camaro convertible is approved for production, this means that the Coupe is ready for shipment to the dealer early next year!

No, I'm not. It keeps the excitement and buildup to the official anouncement by GM. You wouldn't be a member of GM Insidenews unless you wanted to know the very latest rumors and confirmations. Isn't that true?

Re: Camaro convertible “approved for production”

I don't know anything about approval. All I have seen is work orders for testing (fact). I know the GMX511 and GMX521 are Zeta (fact). They are both 2010 models due out late 2009 (fact). The GMX511 is a convetible (fact). The GMX521 is a coupe (fact). If they are the Camaro (????) If they are approved for production (????).
