Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon “likely”
Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon “likely”
Cadillac’s recently unveiled CTS Sport Wagon promises to provide buyers stylish good looks and sports sedan-like handling, all with the added utility of a wagon. But most enthusiasts aren’t concerned with any of that. For those with desktops of Audi’s RS6 Avant, there’s only one concern – will General Motors produce a V-Series version of the Sport Wagon. We had a sneaking suspicion that Cadillac was working on a fire-breathing V-Series version of the CTS Sport Wagon, and Automotive News may have incidentally confirmed that suspicion. Automotive News reports that a V-Series edition of the Sport Wagon is “likely”, although the timeline for such a product remains unclear. Since the CTS Sport Wagon rides on the exact same platform as the CTS sedan, the hardware is already in place to make the V conversion. GM has already openly admitted that it wants to dethrone the BMW M5 as the world’s premier sports sedan with the CTS-V, so it would seem to make sense that GM would want to knock the Audi RS6 Avant from the top of the hill too. Cadillac is already planning to launch the CTS Coupe and CTS-V Coupe together, so it’s quite possible that GM’s luxury brand is planning a surprise CTS-V Sport Wagon launch at one of the upcoming auto shows. Re: Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon “likely”
Its on my screen saver along with the M5 touring wagon that we don't see in the States.
CTS-V wagon? Yes please. I'll look forward to picking one off the used lot in 5-7 years when I actually need a wagon.

Re: Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon “likely”
This sounds good to me, an estate wagon as they our otherwise known in Eureope can be quite appealing and I am sure there would be a few well off folks over there who would love to knock of the German's on their autobahns in a Cadillac.
CTS variants are going to be important for Cadillac, they are the volume sellers, get these going strong and then people will want to work on moving up into the more expensive models over time. Have to give GM credit, they may not get everything right, but they are generally very good at gettings things to go fast ![]()

Re: Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon “likely”
Wow no *** ship after years of thinking of it. No real update tot he XLR and real choice below the current CTS. BUT a CTS-V wagon is on the way in say two years.....great. How about a hybrid Cadillac sedan first GM.

Re: Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon “likely”
I don't think much money would be spent to do this. Even though it's a wagon, it's basically the same car as the sedan. Swapping in the drivetrain and interiors should be a no brainer.

Re: Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon “likely”
I agree w/TType but I'd like to see/hear about some kind of progress on the STS/DTS replacement. Last I heard, there wasn't going to be one.

How about if it were a by-special-order-only model? In other words, dealers wouldn't stock them, and if you wanted one, you'd buy it sight unseen (except to the extent you can visualize from the sedan, of course). It wouldn't even need to be in the catalog. Just a note that it can be special ordered. |

Re: Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon “likely”
They don't sell in huge numbers, but man, overpowered wagons definitely have the 'wicked awesome' factor in buckets. I like the prospects of a CTS-V wagon.
