The speculative renderings are cool, but people always take them way too seriously. That said, I'm getting an F-150 vibe from it, but it's not that bad.

Every rendering of a new pickup looks like that, round with huge wheels.

I commented on this in the 'trucks' area. Overall it's a big thumbs down for me. I showed it to the wife and she thought the front half looked good but the bed was awful. She also didn't care for that 'chrome strip' across the front. I had to explain that's essentially the current Silverado 3 piece bumper/grille with Tahoe headlights. Her remark, "Why don't they just make it one bumper like ours is".. I love her..

Anyhow, fix the front end, fix the hood so it doesn't fold over the edges into the fenders, lose the big flared bed and make the body line consistant from the front all the way to the back. Then extend the bed a few inches so the thing doesn't look like it got smashed in the back end by a Semi truck. With those things in check and a high end durable interior, they'd have a winner. I really do like the cab and front fenders.

    looks alright.
Though the grill looks like its based on the Camaro. (Look at it w/out noticing the chrome grill frame & crossbar).

I would like to see what the 2013 Sierra would look like more so.

IF It's A Chevrolet & RWD, Don't ride in it!!!

ALL Chevy's NEED to be FWD/F-AWD!!!

    If it's a Toyota/Lexus/Scion, Don't ride in/drive it!!

    Thanks, man!
I definitely like the GMC one better!

I wonder, if GM decides to redesign the midsize pick up trucks, perhaps they should go w/a design similar to these(the one here in this thread & the one in the link S113 provided).

Early sketches generally exaggerate the styling cues.

The GMC sketch looks like a toy tonka truck.

Guess I'm in the minority here, but I really like the Silverado rendering. It looks more like the Cheyenne concept, which I loved, but with a better looking front end. The GMC sketch, I'm not feeling. Either way, I'm sure neither of them are correct. They can't come fast enough. Unlike some of you, I don't see how you can get a Ford vibe from it.

Not very good .I especially hate the loss of the rake of the windshield and the chop top look .It takes away from what makes a truck a truck. The cars are hard enough to see through with the A pillers intrudeing in the drivers now it looks like they want that difficulty in their trucks. The current truck is very nice , I have one and its great.

The way the rear tires are right next the the rear bumper completely kills the entire design for me. It looks horrible. Ignoring that, the rest looks ok, but its more rounded than I like. The tires being as big as they are also makes the design look more like a car and less like a truck.

    Re: 2013 Chevy Silverado Concept

Why doesn't someone make a concept that is retro like a 50's style truck or even a old C-10. These new trucks have no character, no trim like the old days they need something to make them more interesting IMO.

I want to see a new concept of this...

Agreed. That's hands down the worst part of the truck for me. It completely ruins an otherwise decent starting point for a design that needs some tweaking. We need MonaroSS on the job..
