It probably isn't true but if there's a slim chance that it is true then It's a dumb move on chryslers part because the Jeep brand has a following and it is a sales leader for chrysler

I see where International would do well building a truck the likes of the Wrangler.

But they're just not in a position to build what are essentially cars, build to car standards of quality using car methods (i.e., unibodies) of construction - that is, the grand Cherrokee and the Patriot. Heck, even the Liberty (which they already destroyed by making it look just like its stylish Dodge cousin the Nitro - they went and took the Jeep-ness right out of it in the interest of restyling it so it could share bodywork with the Nitro) is basically a car.

I just don't see this working out. Even GM would be a better candidate for Jeep ownership.

True but the one smart move Chrysler has left is to not sell Jeep. Of course if they do then it would just pile on to all of the other stupid, questionable, dumb decisions chrysler has made over the years

Imagine if Hummer gets sold to AM General and International aquires Jeep.

That would be awesome!

Maybe someone should check if John Deere wants to start a Super Duper Duty pickup to compete with Ford!
