Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings
That is a sweet looking Chrysler! I hope they make it. I know it is not the Chrono's concept, look at the headlights and the grille and the shape of the front. I think this is a more modern concept. It is either the next 300 or Sebring.

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings
Well...its not boring looking and today...thats an important step towards success..
I wonder why I hear all the press thats seen both the charger and 300c for 2012 are all raving about the new charger being beautiful looking.. Makes me wonder what the 300c looks like and somehow I don't think its this radical.. thanks for the photo

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings
Beautiful car, Chrysler should be honored to have it from the past, or better yet produce it. Very dynamic, and engaging to gauze at IMO.

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings
It's the Chronos, without a doubt. All the same cues are there. The only reason the grill looks any different is it went drawing to real thing. The rear fenders, the headlights, the "venti-ports" on the fron fenders, the green house, all the same. It's the Chronos.

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings
It's possible the Chronos is being studied again for the next gen 300 since the teaser image of the Charger shows a lot of the 99 Charger in it. Maybe they're looking back at Concepts Chrysler has when they were profitable.

As far as the Sebring is concerned, I have been thinking(again) lately(don't worry, it's all good) that when they introduce the next designed Sebring that they rename it Lebaron for production or even have it be the Lebaron in concept form as well. The current Sebring design has damaged that moniker. Though maybe years down the road(if there is one) maybe Chrysler can bring the name back & use it again & a better looking car. ![]() !!!!

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings
This is how you get mileage out of old stuff. You set up your shot with something like this off in the background.
Folks are so starved for something new, it creates a buzz, free of charge.

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings
Marchionne gives interviews in a room full of Chrysler paraphrenalia, it has little to do with their current or future plans, the drawings just hang there.
As concerns the new 300, I still wonder how they are going to make it into a Lancia... Chrysler's large-car style is so different from Lancia's current styling direction. Moreover, why change the badge to something that doesn't even resemble Lancia's badge or fit in their unique grilles? |

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings
Lancia styling has been so bad lately......anything would be an improvement..

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings
Really you have your 'future' products up ten years later. I agree it was set up, but don't just toss it aside like it was a coincidence.

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings
IMO, the most likely scenario is that Chrysler's new boss -- in the process of examining product refreshes/development -- wanted to take a look at where the 300 came from. From where did the original designers draw their inspiration? The next step, then is to determine how this inspiration-point evolves forward.

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings
Quote:
1) Marchionne is VERY conservative with cash and "discretionary spending", as he put that, meaning that he'd rather dust off some old stuff for that than do some new ones 2) He was quite adamant about not wanting to show ANYTHING new before it actually goes live, both because it totally draws attention and demand away from current product (and it is already hard to interest people in the current lineup), and because it is often showing the impossible and then creating expectations it is difficult to match (e.g. the 200C was unfeasible in that no platform was even determined when the concept was unveiled) 3) If you'd look at Fiat Group's policy under Sergio, you'd see they do precious little if any "concepts" that don't go to the market immediately basically "as is". This is why the 200C will be the last of its kind, and you won't see Chrysler doing the GM thing of presenting the next generation of vehicles two years ahead. I believe we will see all the products indicated in the five year plan, including the most immediate 2010 launches, only immediately before they go on sale. Also, Sergio's been "on the case" for the most of 2009, I am very sure he got acquainted with all Chrysler concepts and everything long ago and didn't need to study them while answering the journalists' questions. |
