New Chrysler 300 Renderings

I saw this picture on MSNBC.com and if you look behind Marchionne it appears to be pictures of the new 300C from Chrysler.

If this is the future design, it looks really, really good. It looks like it almost has Maserati Quattroporte influence in the side profile and rear treatment.

Anyway, take a look...

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings

The proportioning looks off. The cabin looks way too small to replace the 300. But maybe it is. The current one is very Bentley and now they're going for poor man's Maserati with the new one?

That's the Chrysler Chronos concept.

Ditto...this looks like a 300 that's been stretched to resemble a male member. Reminds me of the car Ace & Gary would drive on that old Saturday Night Live skit.

WHAT? I think it's awesome looking. In person, I stared at the concept at the NYIAS for, perhaps, 10 minutes with my mouth open. It has a lot of presence.

There are uglier things for something to look like. It worked for the Jaguar E-Type.

I thought it looked familiar. Why are sketches of a 1998 Concept behind Marchionne? Familiarizing himself with what could have been of Chrysler?

I loved that concept....Chrysler was making some great concepts back then, until Daimler raped and pillaged them and left them with blocky chunky boxy designs.

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings

Actually I hope that Chrysler DOES revisit some of its 90s concepts while devising a new design language to help shed the sad legacy of the Daimler era.

I hope they revisit them and then figure out where they would have gone in a decade.

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings

Well, it does seem to have the Maserati--or, even, Alfa, influences, as you point out--like an Italian take on the concept mentioned below. Since the Sebring replacement is intended to be based off something Fiat-sourced, maybe THAT is what we are seeing. It looks to NARROW for a full-size car.

Re: New Chrysler 300 Renderings

Loved the Chronos, however it was copied by the Maserati Quattroporte, but it is a great place to start Chrysler was then high style.
