Which? The new "Vern" or "Joe Isuzu" of the 21st century?

The Durango seems to be the Buick Regal of SUVs, a really solid vehicle that nobody knows about. I drove one for a week and put about 1,400 miles on it, it was a great road-tripper. The only thing that's going against it is that it's not as good-looking as the Grand Cherokee.

Very true. Only crossover with an available V8 (Hemi) + 8-speed + Locking Rear Dif. The Durango looks plain compared to the GC, not nearly as premium. Always thought this should have been a Jeep and gotten the appropriate body work and off-road goodies that come on the GC. Especially since the long rumored Grand Wagoneer is basically vaporware at this point.

I like the updates for 14', looks a lot better. It was pretty plain jane before. Still wish you could get the air suspension on higher trim levels.

Have to agree with you. We get these a few times a year as rental vehicles for work. I really like how these drive and they are pretty comfortable. Of all the suv's we get, this is my favorite. I actually like these better than the tahoes and yukons we get.

I am starting to see a few more of them pop up now around town. More and more people are finally starting to notice them.

This is exactly why I picked the Grand Cherokee over the Durango. We could have used the extra space in the Durango, but it just didn't wow me in the looks area and the missing air suspension were the nails in the coffin. I like the touch up they gave it to make it stand out more on the road, but it's still second best looks wise when compared to the GC.

Just saw an ad. Extremely not-funny.

The Dodge car ads are usually good.

The trucks and such...well, let's just say it's going to take more than a radio voice with a southern accent to get me interested in a pickuptruck.

OR a Faahrstone Taahr, for that matter.

You're probably not the target market for a Ron Burgundy ad.

    It worked.

    Who is? The easily-amused?

According to this clip, they've already filmed 68 ads. These are truly pathetic:

I have seen them. Not really good. Did he put his heart into it or just take the check.... He doesn't seem like a domestic vehicle kind of guy.
At any rate, it gets attention but i doubt it sells many units. Now, if the dealerships get to do a tie in and there are a lot of life sized cardboard Rons at the stores... well then.... it's still a stinker.

If you're over the age of 40, these ads weren't targeted to you. You'd probably walk out of the theater if you were to see Anchorman today. Then you'd go home and yell at those darned kids to get off your lawn.

I certainly hope the upcoming generations have better-developed senses of humor than what these ads demand.
Which is hardly a high standard.

And the kids don't come by my lawn any more. I don't know if it was the punji pits or the Claymores, but they seem to have moved on dot org to greener pastures (pun intended).

I am 55 and you couldn't be more wrong. Anchorman is pretty funny stuff.
I don't see a lot of under 40 types driving Durangos and i hope that this changes. They do a darned good job with it.
