Dodge Magnum SRT-8 production numbers?
I know all of the SRT-8 vehicles are fairly rare, but I was wondering if anyone out there had the production figures on the Magnum SRT-8? I think a low mileage 2008 model would be a great future collector's item. I liked the revised front end a lot and I think it was unfortunate that Chrysler killed off such a fun (and sort of practical) vehicle.

Wow, looks like Mopar has some future classics on their hands. The SRTs are nice modern muscle.

Re: Dodge Magnum SRT-8 production numbers?
People "downgrade" to "gas pig" CUV's all the time. For a given drivetrain, the Magnum would be no worse, and its a shame Dodge didn't get to put the updated 5.7 in it before the death of the Magnum. 375 hp and 24-25 mpg hwy with some utility to boot...
Ok I realize this thread is about the SRT-8, but my response still stands Last edited by red_rider : 10-24-2009 at 01:18 AM. |

Re: Dodge Magnum SRT-8 production numbers?
Why would she step up from a tiny gutless Fail-Wheel-Drive econobox to a gorgeous 425hp RWD Station Wagon? Yeah that's a tough call. If you think going from a Mazda3 to a loaded LX wagon is a downgrade...
You're the kind of person I used to LOVE pointing out to that I drive my 5200lb truck @80mph 50 miles one way to work. Of course now my new job allows me to take the train (which I get to sleep on!!!), but I gladly paid the fuel bill to drive a vehicle I don't hate. If I didn't need to tow my Avalanche would be a Magnum SRT8 or a 300C.

Re: Dodge Magnum SRT-8 production numbers?
Smart move...the magnum rt and srt/8 are awesome vehicle choices. (as long as you don't give a crap about gas mileage) The performance is awesome and worthy of the fuel consumption.....(as long as you go into this with your eyes wide open and expect gasoline to escalate in price etc)
This morning I was just looking at the same vehicle as a third car. Awesome performance, good utility (four doors) and value pricing in the second hand market)

Re: Dodge Magnum SRT-8 production numbers?
Gas pig? Beg to differ, sir.
I have a 2006 Magnum SRT-8 with 38k miles; only mods are a cat back exhaust and K&N flat panel air filter. I have an 80 mile commute every day, and average between 19 and 21 MPG at freeway speeds. For a 2 ton+ behemoth with 380+ RWHP, I find this plenty acceptable. New Suzuki SX-4 CUV gets about 25 MPG. New Honda Pilot CUV gets about 22 MPG. New Subaru Forester CUV about 26 MPG. Most new trucks (the current cool vehicle of choice) about 18 mpg. My ability to achieve near warp speed in a stealthy black American made muscle wagon- priceless. |
