Why wouldn't it? That (and the T&C) is about he only thing that Chrysler sells in decent numbers these days.

This presentation is really encouraging. Kind of warmed my heart to Chrysler all over again . . .

The media pronounced it dead. There's a glimmer of hope for the Chrysler brand too then.

EDIT: There are two models off what looks like the minivan platform in the Chrysler Product Development presentation. BOTH Caravan AND Chrysler Voyager "MKT-like" model?

Purchasing is in!

http://www.chryslergroupllc.com/pdf/...purchasing.pdf

Of interest: Front seat frames will be common accross ALL C/D vehicles (some 50% of all Fiat/Chrysler vehicles).

The Chrysler minivan has never been declared dead by anyone . . . at least not by anyone with two cents worth of common sense . . .

Re: The Chrysler 5-year plan thread (Viper, Dakota DEAD)

A brief breakdown of the 2014 product portfolio - what we know so far:

A. Fiat 500
B. Dodge B-class small car + small Jeep (same platform - Fiat's SCCS probably)
W. Jeep Wrangler (incl. derivatives), own platform
C/D. EIGHT compact and midsize products (C/D-Evo platform)
1. Dodge compact sedan
2. Dodge midsize sedan
3. Jeep compact CUV
4. Jeep midsize CUV
5. ??? (Journey replacement???)
6. ??? (Chrysler???)
7. ??? (Alfa Romeo???)
8. ??? (Elvis???)
E. Three LX/LY cars apparently (Charger, Challenger, Chrysler?)
F. Jeep Grand Cherokee + Dodge "Durango" on GC's unibody
G. Two minivans?

Chrysler Canada: http://www.chryslergroupllc.com/pdf/...ler_canada.pdf

Key takeaway: Fiat-sourced vehicles could help Chrysler become even more competitive in Canada.

Re: The Chrysler 5-year plan thread (Viper, Dakota DEAD)

From what I can see, if that's the 2011 Charger, it looks absolutely incredible.

Also, the new trim level idea is VERY interesting. Way to think outside the box guys.

Re: The Chrysler 5-year plan thread (Viper, Dakota DEAD)

International distribution coming up, VERY INTERESTING!

International Distribution: http://www.chryslergroupllc.com/pdf/...ernational.pdf

Quality deteriorating - includes pic of 2003 Town & Country in lieu of 2009 Grand Voyager...

EDIT: JOURNEY BECOMES A FIAT VEHICLE!

Mopar: http://www.chryslergroupllc.com/pdf/...r_overview.pdf

Olivier Francois started on the Chrysler brand....

Olivier Francois believes he is the best ever, and he will make sure you will too. OR ELSE!

Re: The Chrysler 5-year plan thread (Viper, Dakota DEAD)

Wait... DAKOTA?? REALLY??

Why is this??

If anything, it is this mid-sized truck market that is poised to be a significant market in the future, with more stringent fuel and emissions law around the world.

I don't get it.

Re: The Chrysler 5-year plan thread (Viper, Dakota DEAD)

They are going to build a unibody Dakota, and make some new sports car? I think that's stupid and dumb. Everything else sounds good, and I hope the new Ram van is a TRUE and worthy succesor to the '71 to '03 Ram van, but hearing that it's FIAT-based doesn't give me hope, they don't know about American heavy-duty. Overall though, glad to see FIAT giving MOPAR the support it needs.

Why is this??
The last time Chrysler sold a Dakota they threw a party in Auburn Hills. The model simply ISN'T SELLING. It's as large, pricey and thirsty as a Ram with less capability and heaps of tackiness.

It survives to the end of its cycle in 2011, so don't get alarmed.
