SEMA: $100k Raptor XT!!

http://jalopnik.com/5395616/fr-rapto...yline=true&s=i

Quote:
The Ford SVT Raptor XT, a production version of the fully-caged, coilover-suspended, 6.2-liter, 500HP Raptor Baja pre-runner. Pick up your jaws and believe, Ford's building fifty and selling 'em for a cool $99,950.

There aren't any official images of the Raptor XT — other than this one shot Wert snapped earlier today while on floor walkabout — but there don't really need to be — just take the Raptor R that ran the SCORE Baja 1000 last year and add an interior and glass and you have the Raptor XT. We're not kidding. The Raptor XT comes equipped with a whole host of very serious off-road racing upgrades over the already crazy-capable Raptor. Let's just run down the list:

500 HP version of Ford's new 6.2 liter V8
Full 4130 chromoly roll cage
Coilover four-link rear suspension with 18" of wheel travel
Fox Racing tuned front suspension with 15" of travel
37" BFG Baja T/A tires with bead locks
Tubular bumpers
Auxilary light bar
Front locking differential in addition to the standard rear locker
Factory five point harnesses and racing seats

500 horsepower, eh? Ford engineers are sure this engine won't fit in the Mustang?

Yeah, yeah, I know. 5.0 EcoBoost and all that.

For that price, they'd better throw in the mullet for free.

it DOES fit in the mustang ... look up 777.

the 5.0l is simply much more fitting for the pony!

And 5.0l EB will be much more interesting to rev up!

That's a bargain for a basically race ready trophy truck.

Fer Chrissakes, know your stereotypes!

Let's try that again:

"For that price, they'd better throw in a flat-billed baseball cap, a Famous Stars and Straps shirt, and some time in a tattoo chair."

There, much better.

I love the thing, but let's not get crazy. While I'm fixing quotes, how about
"That's a bargain for basically a chase-ready truck."

This thing is no where near that league, it is however one kick-ass Pro Truck.

Ok, I'll agree with you there. The roll cage does put it into a different category for me, gives me the impression its not just a trailer/car show queen like the regular Raptor is.

I've done 70+ mph in the desert in a Raptor with no roll cage, I hope they don't all end up in the hands of pansies who won't get 'em dirty.

Haha, I know what you are talking about exactly. Although, now that I live in the Inland empire, I don't see those types too much. Saw them more when I lived in Orange County (I don't mean the guys from the OC are like that, just that I saw the 909ers more often in the OC).
