    Retrobuilt 1969 Mustang fastback

    Article from Autoblog
    http://www.autoblog.com/2012/11/30/r...-drive-review/

Blink your eyes and take another look. While all visual cues may be telling your brain that you are staring at a near-pristine 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback, it's all a carefully crafted illusion – a very clever façade.

Hidden beneath that glistening Yellow Blaze paint, below the sculpted fiberglass and steel body panels, is a 2013 Ford Mustang GT. The retro-coupe features power-operated sport buckets with lumbar support, ice-cold air conditioning, six airbags and a full factory warranty. Lest anyone forget, it also comes with a modern fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8 generating 420 horsepower.

Ugh, "Let's make a retro car even more retro!". Will the stupidity ever stop?. The chrome accents on the 5th gen Camaro to make it look even more like the first gen,the silly fool who takes a c6 and destroys it to make, what was that a second gen eyesore.....the list goes on & on. Has anyone ever taken a new Lambo or Ferrari and tried to make it look like it's 40 year old counterpart?.

As a matter of fact -- yes. Eric Clayton had a custom bodied Ferrari built to recall the '70s BB512s he once owned.

That Mustang is really sharp. I wonder if i can get that treatment for my 2011 convertible. That is cool.

Well, guys, i sent them an e mail.
They will take my 2011 Convertible and convert it to the McLaren version for...... $32,500.00. Are they nuts!?!?
Holy cow. I could buy another one for that price. In fact, i bought mine (V6 Premium with pony package shaker stereo and a few other goodies) with the Ford discount and i don't think i paid much more than that.

    Re: Retrobuilt 1969 Mustang fastback

I actually like it for the most part. The problems are that the rear quarter panels look awful and the rear bumper looks way too tacked on (yes I know it really is just tacked on but the front looks good).

As mentioned those Corvette conversions are hideous

Man this reminds me of good ol GM...you can use "same ol GM" as you use "same ol Lions"

    That corvette add on is.

The remade 62's that are done on a C 5 are fantastic and almost 100 grand.
