I would have enjoyed one more with Pierce.

My first choice would have been Hugh Jackman. He's a very versatile actor. He's tall, suave, and dark haired. Perfect for Bond.
Pierce said he would like to do 1 more, but then he considered himself fired from the role. The producers replaced him because they don't want another Roger Moore fiasco. Moore played the role until he was 58 years old.

And I remember correctly, I heard that 007 was supposed to drive the DB5 as his personal car in this movie.

Citroen and Renault paid the James Bond producers, to have Bond driving a 2CV and a 11, even though it was for a few seconds and both cars, ended up destroyed in the end.

Errr...Is it related to this???
Also there was the "Man with the Golden Gun" when Bond use an AMC Hornet do to a jump over a river. http://www.imcdb.org/movie_71807-Jam...olden-Gun.html

Your picture is in an entirely different universe than that first Mondeo bild.
While I wouldn't touch the first with a 10 foot pole, your version actually looks really, really good.

D*mn Nice!

Mondeo is a very competent midsizer, and the best driving one - very befitting for a role in car chase.

I agree.

I can't see the problem, of James Bond driving a Ford Mondeo, along in the same line as the AMC Hornet from "The Man With The Golden Gun"(1974).

I just can't picture, the image a of a cool, legendary, super spy, driving a 20K rep-mobile as his official car. But then as I said earlier, Bond drove a Citroen 2CV. And that's about as bad as it gets!

The Mondeo MK3 is a very competent car. And as you pointed out, it's a great FWD car to drive. Indeed, the Mondeo ST220 is often praised for its excellent FWD handling.

I definitely wouldn't like to see a Mondeo having its roof torn off and then being chopped off in half, like that poor Renault 11. That said however, I laughed my arse, to see that ugly Renault being torn apart!

Daniel Craig only drive Automatics. And the producers said, it will be an Automatic Mondeo capable of 140 Mph. So maybe, Bond, will be the first and "only" (who knows...) to drive an Automatic Mondeo ST220.

Now that's lame. I have nothing against him being blonde and other stuff not quite like Brosnan or Sean Connery, but not to be able to drive a normal car? Can he use a knife and fork in case there would be some gala dinner scenes, or will he use a stand-in?

The current Mondeo is Mk2, isn't it? Or did I miss something?

as long as they make the movie right, it don't really care what cars he drives (as long as teh main car is an aston). i really think that clive owen should've been teh next bond, he's even said that he'd like to be bond. as long as i'm talkinng about clive owen, does anyone else have "The Hire" BMW-films-DVD?

Pierce Brosnan could only drive Automatic cars.

The Mondeo MK2 was that one built from 1997 to 2001, when it was replaced by the current model (Mondeo MK3).

How about knife and fork?

The 1997-2001 Mondeo was just the 1993 Mondeo after an extensive mid-life facelift. Calling it Mk2 would make 1999 Omega a legitimate Omega C....

EDIT: 1. Can't find any source saying Brosnan can't shift - perhaps you could?
2. Why wouldn't they tell Craig just to learn to drive a car?
