What model year will the last ones be, 2010 or 2011?

2010. Ford said there won't be any 2011 models.

2011 is the end (2010 on Mountaineer, but this was decided before Mercury was axed), but 2011's will be built for only a couple months. We just recieved our last allocation for 2 2011 Milans, they'll be assigned VINs and build dates this month (I belive for September production, then we're done with Mercury.

Our July Ecommitement request said this was balance out for Mercury and not to take any retail orders after this batch.

Ford said 2010 calendar year was the end. 2011's had already started scheduling before Mercury was killed. It gets confusing in the auto industry since one minute they talk in model years and the next in calendar years.

I hope that Ford gives the brand a proper ending, with hopefully some special edition models. DON'T DO WHAT GM DID WITH PONTIAC.

Don't sell the last model to roll of the line to fleet or rental company.

You won't hear or read near the anger from Team Mercury as most of the buyer's don't mess with new fangled internet thingy.

Another storied nameplate goes the way of Nash, Hudson, Edsel, AMC, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Pontiac, Saturn, Hummer, and Eagle.

Wishing Ford, GM, and Chrysler the best going forward from this point.

What do you suggest they do? They're not going to advertise them now after they've been neglected for so long, nobody's going to know about them.

Well, how about keeping the last one in Ford Museum? In this way, its better than selling it to a rental company where it will be abused. Just my opinion.

I liked the Mariner Hybrid, I suppose it will become a Lincoln for 2011?

Let's hope it's a hybrid Explorer rebadge instead.

Nope. It'll still be a Mercury for the 2011 model year. Which is good because it makes no sense facelifting a 12 season-old platform to rebadge it as a Lincoln just so it can be on sale one more season before it switches over to the Kuga platform.

Lincoln will probably get it when it switches to the Kuga platform. Only, it'll be more luxurious and expensive, probably.
    Peace,

Your point? Every car maker, dead or alive has great car and embarrassing fiascos in its past. Other than being inflammatory just for the sake of it your post doesn't really seem to have a point.

I can think of some Mercurys worse than the Bobcat or the early 90s Cougar, and many many more far greater and memorable. I really don't see the point on mocking Voyager's initiative.
