Mustangs in China may be as rare as a Veyron in the US. Let's try not to talk too much out of our......hats, holidays or not. As for something that no other OEM has done before, I'm fresh out of ideas.
In interviewing with Fords Mustang Project Manager, we discussed how the car was designed with a convertible in mind. Very rigid platform with the addition of one crossmember. This will be a nice riding ragtop.
I mentioned to him that this car needs to be offered with a targa top.... Dead silence for a second, then... first out is the coupe. Next will be the convertible. We will have a few variants of this car, after that. HOLY COW! He didn't say they weren't doing it.
I Asked how many years that they plan on keeping this design around. It'll be here for a few years.
Not by the factory. The Ute and Wagon were never built by Ford for sale to the public. The closest to a Targa was T Tops and i think it was Cars and Concepts that did the conversion.
Webasto would probably do a Targa as they also did the Panorama roof on the current Stang.
