The mustang ornament is going to gallop as the speed of the car increases..(kidding of course) I have no idea what ford has in store that's never been done before.
They said never been done by an OEM, so things that people have done in the after market just not a OEM. I am guessing factory line lock for the perfect burnout or some system that will engage the front brakes only.
I'm thinking a 50-100 shot of Nitrous Oxide....I think that's really the only thing that hasn't been done by an OEM....Although since someone has said the line lock has been done, I'd like to know by whom, and on what...
Bleach reservoirs over both back wheels that automatically dispense fluid when the computer senses the front wheels turning less than 1mph while the rears are turning at 50+. Awesome smoky burnouts without having to do anything special.
1st Mustang that won't suck? Nah, not with that body. Or perhaps a screen that pops up to block your view that senses when a Camaro passes you so you won't have to see your embarrassment. : :drive:
Seems ford is considering a diesel, hybrid, or all electric version of the Mustang...Also mentions 9 and 10 speed trannies.....I know some OEM's have already brought out the 8 speed, has anyone gone higher than that?
Ford and GM are co-developing 9- and 10-speed automatics. The nines are for FWD applications while the tens will be set up for RWD. That said, I expect the Mustang will get a 10-speed within the next few years.
As for the other technologies I think a hybrid would be a waste, but an all-electric car might be interesting. I just wouldn't call it a Mustang. A diesel could be interesting too. I seem to recall a Mustang being modified for some racing series a few years back and having a small turbo diesel four-cylinder but I can't find anything on it.
Black spray-paint cans attached behind each rear wheel so the driver can leave perfect "black streaks" for as long as they want (or the paint runs out)?
This is the state of Fords RWD engineering? Not MR struts, not an e-diff, and not even rev matching, but a "feature" that makes you look like every toolbox from high school.
