Contest #170: Off-make #3: 08 Highlander
It's OCTOBER! Which means Hallowe'en is coming.
What does that mean here? Not all that much. Except that October is the month we get to chop non-GM cars! It's still about quality and concept. Don't bash it because it's not GM. Take the picture below and modify it any way that you want. Change colors, looks, background, etc... The changes can be serious or silly. The changes don't have to make the car more desirable, they just have to make it different. You are showing off your creativity and your chopping skills. You must use the original picture as your starting point. Try to keep some semblance of the original pic. You can make up to 2 entries! But if you do, they have to be significantly different from each other. Please send me final copies only. NO revisions after entry. Once you've entered, that's your entry. If more than 20 entries are received, I might not use "2nd" entries. So please indicate which one you prefer, in case of that scenario. Chopping is anonymous!: Do NOT post your images here in this thread. Instead, E-mail them to: sales@sub500.com. Do not send a link to the picture. Send the picture itself. Please send it in JPG format. Please do not write your name anywhere in your picture. In your e-mail (but not your picture) please include your user name, even if you think that I know who you are. You have until Thursday at Midnight to submit your entries, so there is no need to rush right away. Quality takes time. Voting will start on Friday. Same rule in effect. If you enter, you MUST vote. Contestants that do not vote will be penalized. Here's the pic to modify: ![]()

Re: Current Contest #170: Off-make #2: 08 Highlander
why does it have to be an ugly toyota design, there's a whole world of non-GM cars and we have to deal with this. there's a lot of non-GM in other continents, and they pretty much all look good.

Boo hooo.
Honda week 1, Nissan week 2, Toyota week 3. If you don't like the design so much; MAKE IT BETTER!

it is amazing how big that vehicle is now... seems Toyota can't help but make each new model bigger and less distinctive. I like the old one better.

For serious. One drove by me the other day and I was totally taken back by how large it had grown, and then all the bulges just overwhelmed me.

Look at Malibu. Look at CTS. Look at the Wrangler. Look at the Blazer/Jimmy replacements (Trailblazer/Envoy), and what inevitably replaced those (Outlook/Acadia/Enclave). I think it's inevitable for smaller vehicles to eventually get larger (for whatever reason). But I agree Toyota's direction has been less distinctive in progression (IE: UGLY).

Well I guess sky's the limit......
You can make an already generic design into anything
