Re: What GM says about e85 conversions
sp wait, how do i know if my truck is e-85 capable? id imagine since the z71 badging was stripped when i bought it the flex fuel badge might be as well. is it in the VIN? isnt my gas cap supposed to be yellow or something? that would be really cool if it turns out my truck is e85 capable (even if no pumps are in the surrounding area). and i have the build sheet for it, would it be in there?
if it isnt though, does gm do a retrofit? is there a way for gm to make my truck e85 capable? i would be all for it if that were the case. EDIT: i found this in the build sheet: PDU - LIGHT DUTY POWER PACKAGE: * VORTEC 5300 V8 SFI GAS ENGINE * HD TRAILERING EQUIPMENT LM7 - VORTEC 5.3L 295HP IRON BLK V8 and theres no Z in my VIN

Re: What GM says about e85 conversions
I revently got an Enclave and was checking to see if the 3.6 VVT DOHC engine was E85 - I was surprised to see it wasnt certified for this. Kinda thought GM was doing this for most of its mainstream motors and figured one of their newer designs would have this. No biggie since there is only 1 Ethanol station within 200 miles of me and is run by the County Govt, but one of these days I was hoping to put some corn in the tank
