Tsb 040603002
Can anyone help me with this TSB effecting my 2002 Avalanche. I see much conversation regarding battery run down and suspect causes. Has anyone actually had this issue corrected at the dealer level? What was done? I really dont want to take my truck to the dealer for experimentation to see how many parts they can "throw" at it in an attempt to fix problem.

The bulletin talks about no crank due to a previously replaced ignition switch being installed incorrectly, which has nothing to do with what you are asking. So who is it that doesnt know what they are doing again? Anyway, as I am sure you know, dead batteries are probably the most difficult thing to diag due to the fact the most of the time the problem is very intermittant. There is no quick easy fix, and I am not aware of a fix all bulletin that applies. I seriously wish anything were ever that easy. The only thing you can do is get it to the shop so someone who knows can go through the needed steps to figure it out, or try and tackle it yourself.
