traction control and stabil-track light on

I have a 2011 silverado and the message center says to service the traction control and stabil-trac. The truck only has 1100 miles on it. Anyone have this issue before?

Can be a multitude of causes.

Been off roading where wires may have caught on somethining or driving in deep water?

    Any wheel/suspension mods lately?

I've issues with the stabilitrak on my envoy. If you hold down the traction control button for like 10 seconds you can shut it off and on. this will reset the system, and might make those warnings go away.

New vehicle warranty = get it fixed by the dealer.

Electrical problems that trigger stabili-trac seem to be pretty common with the Silverados and Tahoes. I had the problem with our newest Silverado (2010) and it was very difficult to fix. I fought this problem for months, stabili-track, traction control, brakes dragging and applying themselves etc. The Silverado was at one dealership for 2 1/2 months before they figured it out. Here is a list of items they replaced that did NOT help.

    Body control module
    powertrain control module
    Transmission control module
they checked all the connnectors between the Hi and Low speed LAN circuits.
They went as far as telling me that my DVD player which came in the truck was causing the problem... I called BS on that!
When I Told them I wanted a factory rep involved, they got one the next day. The rep got some specialist techs involved and they ended up replacing a terminating resistor in the wiring harness (by the spare tire) and the negative battery cable. The problem has not re-occured for over 6 months.

why would you call BS on something the dealer tells you? its very possible a DVD player can create an issue like that. in fact any item on the data line could create an issue similar to that.

I have seen alot of stupid things you would never expect cause issues in other systems.

No start caused by a window switch failure was one of my favorites.

anyways, back on subject. most likely you have an issue with the EBCM, or could even be an issue caused by a P code, which can send an invalid serial data message to the EBCM for Torque delivery. lots of differnet things can be at fault, no way to know for sure without having the DTC to know which direction to go.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

anyways, what do you expect? It cant last forever, and at 1100 miles, you better sell it fast. i think its on its way out.

    I smell a buy back

in all seriousness its probably not a big deal, just take it to the dealer, they should be able to fix it no problem.
