solstice differential assembly with positraction 07-08

Hello
My other buddy is doing up chrysler conquest from head to toe. He been looking at a lighter stronger rear end on his car. I told him has he thought of getting a solstice GXP differential assembly with positraction 07-08. He never heard of this car & he does not think it will handle the power. I found one locally for him. Here is the part number 25858218. I think it's for a solstice with positraction 07-08 differential assembly, I think it's for a auto to.
Does it matter that it's a auto or manual differential assembly?
How much power can this hold?
Is this part number 25858218 from a 2007-2008 solstice with positraction 07-08 automatic.
Does the GXP models used the same differential assembly as this one?
Any help would be good or advice.
Thanks

Re: solstice differential assembly with positraction 07-08

When Hot Rod Magazine built their 600HP LS7 Solstice, they used STS-V gears in the stock Solstice housing and changed a few of the mounting pieces...

So, according to that, the CTS-V and STS-V use the same housing (sourced from Getrag, I believe) but have stronger gears. I've heard a few comments about problems keeping these units from leaking, but not sure how big a problem it is offhand.

I do not know much about interchanging but there are at least three different mounting configurations used in the Solstice.

The differentials used in the Solstice thru some point in the 08 model had a terrible pinion seal. Probably 50-75% failure rate. Finally the seal was changed in 08. All the cars built prior to this were recalled to change the seal. Think some of the caddy units were involved in this recall.
