New wiper motor or pulse board?
On the '97 GMC Jimmy, for a few months now, windshield wipers would "stick" every once in a while. By stick I mean they would stop and a humming noise could be heard from the wiper motor. this would be a momentary thing and they would take off again. Yesterday, they stuck and stayed stuck. After a little tugging back and forth (and getting soaked) the arms "caught" and started again, only to wipe once and stop again with humming resumed.
I was planning to replace the wiper motor tomorrow, but wanted another opinion to make sure this was motor and not pulse board. With the humming, I thought the motor was sticking and was done. But didn't know if a faulty pulse board would cause this problem. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Re: New wiper motor or pulse board?
Do a tap test with the head of a screwdriver & if it works again...the board...
Likely the issue, I'd start there as they are not usually included with a motor...

Re: New wiper motor or pulse board?
Both??? Kind of expen$ive.... ![]() I can't tell you the last time I sold a wiper motor itself for one of those...8 of 20 times it's the pulse board itself. Well, at least it buys you piece of mind, and that's 99% of the battle! ![]()

Re: New wiper motor or pulse board?
When I worked for customer service it was almost always the board, motor failures were uncommon, I dealt with a lot of these. At least it's an easy fix.
