Know anything about the Iron Duke? Need help.

Okay, so I haven't been getting anywhere with the Fiero forum I'm on, so I figure I'd ask here.

The Fiero has a vacuum leak. I know where it is and everything.

The hose that goes to the map sensor used to be there, but I moved it to where it's supposed to go. That leaves this open though. I've noticed on other Fieros that it is plugged.

What is it, what is it supposed to be connected to, what should I do with it?

Re: Know anything about the Iron Duke? Need help.

My mom has a Fiero 2.5, and when I start it, it idles near 3,000 rpm's for a while, and then it stays around 1-1.5k's. All well and good I assume. If you rev it up, as it just sits in the garage and collects dust, the motor will sometimes almost die, like the rpm's will fall to around 500 and then the motor shakes, and then it gives itself the gas to keep going. Its kind of strange and I was wondering if this is normal. Also, the chime for when the door is open and stuff, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. It usually works once the engine has been warmed up, or after the E-Brake has been in use. Just a pinched wire, or a small short somewhere? And the car has 36,XXX miles and I'm sorry for highjacking the post of yours. About your question, could you be missing a wire of some sort?

Okay, but what is it for? Why would they put it there if it was just supposed to be plugged?

Now I just have to find one to put there.

Does your Fiero have cruise control? It might be an extra port for that

No, but that could be what it's meant for. I may just have to hook one up.

its probably just a bad sensor, more of an annoyance to wait 1 minute for the car to go to an idle speed, but i'm sure its nothing major. Thanks for the assistance. And good luck to the person that originally asked for help...
