Heater blend door on a 1997 buick lesabre where?

I have a 1997 buick lesabre with the auto air system but the air will not come out of the middle vents. Only the bottom and the top. Is this the door actuator and if so where is it located if anyone can help me? Thanks in advance. I heard there is 2 on this car so are both bad since the air wont come out of the middle vents?

Try a "reboot"!

Remove a battery terminal for 10 minutes, then reconnect.
Turn ignition switch to on, but don't start.
Wait 1 minute.
DO NOT touch any buttons in the vehicle during this minute.
Then start vehicle and let idle for 5 minutes.
Drive above 45 mph as soon as possible.

This "reboots" all the computers in the vehicle including the A/C which then "resynchronizes" the actuator doors during the power-up.

This also reboots the engine computer and the idle and driving above 45 mph helps it to "regain" its operating memory.

If this does not work, you would need a GM Factory Service Manual set which would have complete troubleshooting instructions for this problem as well as complete part replacement procedures. Order from helminc.com or a GM dealer.

You would also need to know how to use a multimeter along with the instructions in the manual. How to use a multimeter...

Well i tried the reboot and no luck so i guess no one knows where the actuator is located. Thanks anyways.

I believe the mode actuator is on the left side of the heater case above the accelerator pedal. It should be a 3" diameter round plastic can with a couple of vacuum hoses coming off of it. There are several in that area and it can be difficult to access. Sorry If I can't be more specific but the electronic manual I have access to does not go back that far. I am assuming that the Lesabre is the same as a Bonneville, which are the same platform.
